Fire Risk Assessment

An overview of our Fire Risk Assessment Checklist Template.

Checklist Overview

In the UK, you are considered a "Responsible Person" with regards to fire safety if you have control of non-domestic premises, for example, as a landlord or business owner. A part of that responsibility is to carry out and regularly review a Fire Risk Assessment.

Note: You must keep a written record of your Fire Risk Assessment if your business employs more than 5 people.

The Risk Memo Fire Risk Assessment Checklist Template aims to help you to:

  1. Identify the fire hazards
  2. Identify people at risk
  3. Evaluate, remove or reduce the risks
  4. Record your findings
  5. Perform regular reviews and updates

Action Plan

During this assessment, the assessor may discover hazards that need to be addressed. This template is designed to use our built-in system for creating and managing actions which form the "Action Plan" of a typical Fire Risk Assessment.

To make use of our system, simply add actions to any pertinent question in this assessment.

Features

This template makes use of repeating sections and equipment records to attach this assessment to all pertinent assets at the premises. For example, we recommend creating equipment records for all assets that have a fire safety implication, including infrastructures such as fire doors and warning systems.

Top tricks

  1. When you review this assessment, consider duplicating the previous assessment as this will carry forward the data.
  2. Add a "Fire Safety" tag to every equipment record that must be included in this assessment.
